Our Mission
To shine the spotlight on African Americans in the community who aren't just speaking of change but actively making positive changes within our communities.
Our History
Our History
Honors Events was founded in 2011 by A. Jay Pullen with a powerful vision: to create a space where youth from his mentoring program could meet and learn from successful and prominent African Americans. Driven by his passion for community empowerment, Mr. Pullen sought to honor leaders who were not only advocating for change but actively creating it.
Since its inception, Honors Events has brought families and communities together, raising funds that directly support youth through school supplies, career development opportunities, food, clothing, and other essential resources. Over the years, the event has grown significantly, hosting audiences ranging from 50 to over 320 attendees annually. Mr. Pullen’s goal remains to expand Honors Events' reach across the country, continuing to inspire and uplift communities nationwide.
What We Do
What We Do
Honors Events is an annual fundraising event dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the achievements of African Americans in the Central Ohio and Miami Valley communities who are making a meaningful difference. Through heartfelt recognition and community support, Honors Events creates opportunities for growth, connection, and empowerment for youth and families alike.
Every dollar raised contributes to providing essential resources for young people, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to succeed. At Honors Events, we are not just honoring achievements — we are investing in a brighter future for our communities.
